Brookedale Park Winter Run

Heavenly snow gives earthly glow
upon the trail my spirit flows -
this pounding heart cannot contain
this burning heart that melts the pain -
and into night the only sight
- reflected light from icy white
is a place I know so well
that takes me to this heartfelt spell -

Alert to every step I take
to place each pace and never brake
my conscience clear of hurt and pain
just filled with every breath I make
to run in winter is a thrill
a warmth that warms the coldest chill
to bring control of troubled souls
and feel my spirit, filled -
